Specific Tips and Situations

Conservative mastectomy

In the case of conservative mastectomy, after removing part of the breast tissue, the difference in the breasts can be disguised with the bra in the right size and model. If there is a greater asymmetry, it can be disguised with partial silicone prostheses.

Mastectomy

The wrong size bra does not guarantee adequate support, the prosthesis and the real breast are not at the same level of the body and can lead to the choice of a prosthesis that is too small. An inadequate prosthesis can harm your health, as it causes a great imbalance of the body, affecting your posture. There is little supply of bras already with a pouch incorporated in terms of sizes, styles and colours.

Breast reconstruction

It implies a new surgery, in which a silicone implant is placed. It is necessary to evaluate the best size and models so that it is balanced with the real breast.

Pink Adjustment

In the chosen models, this adjustment can be made, which consists of a pouch to accommodate the prosthesis, in white, in a 100% cotton fabric, or in nude or black, in a similar cotton fabric. It is carried out in most bras, such as day-to-day bras, strapless, sports bras and bikinis or swimsuits. It costs € 10 and takes about 2 weeks.

The right size bra

Dama de Copas offers a wide range of styles and models of bras, in the right size, so that all women can find the ideal lingerie for their physiognomy and their preferences. The choice of models depends on the type of surgery performed. In cases of mastectomy, the models that are higher, in the Full Cup style, are the most suitable, whereas, with conservative mastectomy and reconstruction, the option of models is broadened.

Non-Wired

In the initial phase, a bra with no underwires and cotton is indicated and later functions as an essential comfort bra. It should be used between two to three months after the treatments, or according to medical advice.

Wired

Depending on the type of clothing and purpose, there are several models in basic or fashion colours. The use of each model will depend on the type of surgical intervention.

Swimsuits and Bikinis

Any swimwear model can be adapted to incorporate the prosthesis. However, the bandeau models are very versatile, as the cups stick to the breast well and close creating a “shell” effect.

The right prosthesis

After establishing the right bra size, it's time to find the size of the prosthesis. Dama de Copas offers three types of Amoena prostheses. Essencials 3S (363) has a triangular shape, which adapts to any woman with unilateral and bilateral mastectomy, for daily bras; the Essentials 2E (474) in oval and bandeau shape, narrower and rounded at the base and ideal for use with bras or bandeau bikinis. Both prostheses are available in all sizes from 1 to 12. The value of the prostheses is €96. The Essencials Light 3S (367) also in triangular shape but with 40% less weight than the Essencials 3S, to provide greater comfort and balance. It is available in sizes 6 to 12 and costs €159. We also recommend the Soft Cleaner (€14), a detergent specially created for daily washing in order to preserve the quality of the prostheses. It is used with a brush, making circular movements with some pressure. Poor hygiene and sweating are the main causes for the deterioration of prostheses.
